Dizitrim Suspension

Dizitrim suspension is a synergistic antimicrobial formulation combining two potent agents Sulphadiazine and Trimethoprim. Sulphadiazine, a bacteriostatic sulfonamide, inhibits the conversion of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) to dihydrofolic acid (DFA) by competitively blocking the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase. Trimethoprim, a bactericidal agent, inhibits the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, preventing the conversion of DFA to tetrahydrofolic acid, a critical cofactor for bacterial DNA and protein synthesis. This dual blockade of the folate pathway results in enhanced antibacterial efficacy. This suspension is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections in poultry, including:

• Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Complex Chronic Respiratory Disease (CCRD) involving secondary bacterial infections, Colibacillosis (Escherichia coli), Salmonellosis (Salmonella spp.), Infectious Coryza (IC) (Avibacterium paragallinarum), Fowl Cholera (FC) (Pasteurella multocida).
